Privacy Policy
Overview — Our Approach to Privacy
LiberationDex ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to preserving the privacy and anonymity of its users. This Privacy Policy describes the limited information that may be processed in connection with your use of the LiberationDex decentralized exchange interface (the "Platform"), and explains your rights and responsibilities with respect to that information.
Because LiberationDex is a non-custodial, permissionless interface, the vast majority of interactions occur directly between your wallet and Ethereum blockchain smart contracts. LiberationDex does not operate servers that process, store, or transmit your personal data in connection with swap execution. The Platform is designed to function without requiring any personal information from you.
This Privacy Policy applies to your use of the LiberationDex web interface. It does not apply to third-party services, wallets, blockchain networks, or protocols (such as 1inch, MetaMask, WalletConnect, or The Graph) that you may interact with in connection with your use of the Platform. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
Information We Do Not Collect
LiberationDex does not collect, store, process, or transmit the following categories of information:
Identity Information: We do not collect your name, username, email address, phone number, date of birth, government-issued identification, national identification number, passport number, or any other identity document.
Financial Information: We do not collect bank account numbers, credit card numbers, payment card details, or any traditional financial account information.
Location Data: We do not collect precise geolocation data. We do not log or store IP addresses for the purpose of identifying or tracking users.
Behavioral Tracking: We do not use third-party advertising trackers, behavioral profiling cookies, or cross-site tracking technologies.
Biometric Data: We do not collect fingerprints, facial recognition data, voice prints, or any other biometric identifiers.
Information That May Be Processed
The following limited categories of data may be processed in connection with your use of the Platform:
| CATEGORY | DATA | PURPOSE | RETENTION |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wallet Address | Your Ethereum public address when connected | Display balances, quote prices, execute swaps | Session only (browser memory) |
| Transaction History | Swap records (tx hash, token symbols, amounts, status) associated with your wallet address | Display cross-device swap history; power Analytics page with real data | Server-side database (keyed by wallet address); user-deletable at any time |
| Swap Settings | Slippage tolerance, deadline preferences | Persist user preferences across sessions | Browser localStorage (user-controlled) |
| Analytics (Aggregate) | Anonymous page view counts via Umami (self-hosted, cookieless) | Understand platform usage at aggregate level | Aggregate only, no user-level data |
All transaction history and settings stored in your browser's localStorage remain entirely within your device. LiberationDex does not have access to this data. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
On-Chain Data — Public Blockchain Transparency
When you execute a swap through LiberationDex, the following information is permanently recorded on the public Ethereum blockchain and is accessible to anyone worldwide:
Your Ethereum wallet address, the token addresses and amounts involved in the swap, the transaction hash, the block number and timestamp, the gas fee paid, and the smart contract addresses interacted with. This information is inherent to the operation of public blockchains and is outside the control of LiberationDex.
You are solely responsible for understanding the public nature of blockchain transactions and for any privacy implications that arise from your on-chain activity. If you require enhanced transaction privacy, you should research and use appropriate privacy-preserving tools independently of LiberationDex. LiberationDex does not provide privacy-enhancing services and makes no representations regarding the privacy of your on-chain activity.
Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
LiberationDex integrates with several third-party services to provide its functionality. Your use of these services is subject to their respective privacy policies, which you should review independently:
1inch AggregationRouterV6: Swap execution is routed through 1inch's AggregationRouterV6 deployed on Ethereum. All swap data is recorded on-chain as described in Section 4.
RPC Providers (Infura / Alchemy / Flashbots): Your browser communicates with Ethereum RPC providers to read blockchain state and submit transactions. These providers may log your IP address and request data in accordance with their own privacy policies. When MEV protection is enabled, transactions are routed through Flashbots' private mempool.
WalletConnect: If you connect using WalletConnect, your connection is facilitated through WalletConnect's relay servers. WalletConnect's privacy policy governs the data processed in connection with this service.
CoinGecko API: Token price data is fetched from CoinGecko's public API. These requests may include your IP address as seen by CoinGecko's servers.
The Graph: Analytics data is sourced from The Graph's decentralized indexing network. Subgraph queries may be visible to The Graph's infrastructure.
ipapi.co (OFAC Sanctions Screening): To comply with U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions regulations, LiberationDex performs a one-time, server-side country lookup using the ipapi.co geolocation API when you first visit the Platform. This lookup uses your IP address to determine your country of origin. The result is cached on our server for 24 hours and in your browser's localStorage for 24 hours to minimize the number of requests made. Your IP address is not stored by LiberationDex beyond this transient lookup; only the resulting country code is used to determine whether access restrictions apply. Users located in OFAC-sanctioned jurisdictions are shown a compliance notice and access to swap functionality is restricted. ipapi.co's own privacy policy governs the data processed on their infrastructure.
LiberationDex does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We do not share any user data with data brokers.
User Responsibility for Privacy
Given the public nature of blockchain technology, you are solely responsible for:
(a) Wallet Address Privacy. Your Ethereum wallet address is a pseudonymous identifier. While it does not directly reveal your real-world identity, it may be linked to your identity through on-chain analysis, exchange KYC records, or other means. You are responsible for understanding and managing the privacy implications of your wallet addresses.
(b) Device Security. The transaction history and settings stored in your browser's localStorage are accessible to anyone with access to your device and browser. You are responsible for securing your device and browser from unauthorized access.
(c) Compliance with Local Privacy Laws. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Platform complies with any applicable privacy laws in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to data protection laws that may govern your own handling of transaction records.
(d) Tax Record Keeping. You are solely responsible for maintaining records of your transactions for tax reporting purposes. LiberationDex does not provide tax records, transaction summaries, or any documentation for regulatory compliance. The transaction history displayed in the Platform interface is provided as a convenience only and should not be relied upon as a complete or authoritative record.
Data Retention and Deletion
Because LiberationDex does not collect or store personal data on its servers, there is no centralized data to delete or retain. All data associated with your use of the Platform exists either on the public Ethereum blockchain (where it is permanent and immutable) or in your own browser's localStorage (where it is under your complete control).
On-chain data (transaction history on Ethereum) is permanent and cannot be deleted by LiberationDex or any other party. This is a fundamental property of public blockchain technology.
Browser-stored data (settings and local transaction history) can be deleted at any time by clearing your browser's site data. LiberationDex has no ability to recover this data once deleted.
Children's Privacy
The Platform is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18 (or the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction, if higher). LiberationDex does not knowingly collect any information from minors. If you are under the applicable age of majority, you must not use this Platform.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Platform following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. It is your sole responsibility to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
As stated in our Terms of Use, LiberationDex provides no support and will not notify users of Privacy Policy changes through any direct communication channel.
